DESCRIPTION

ProX Own Mould ProX 21DB Disc Wheels - Cheap Price Carbon Wheels for Amateur Riders

Considering the cost of DT Swiss hubs increases quickly, and lead time is getting longer and longer, ProX has developed our own mould disc brake hubs (called ProX 21DB Disc, only 372g/pair!). 

ProX 21DB road disc brake hubs are designed with 3-pawl freehub system, featuring J-bend and regular steel bearings. In addition, 21DB hubs can be made with your customized logo (either etch logo or make stickers). So it will become your own brand hubs!

ProX provides two width option for our 21DB disc brake carbon road wheels. That is, 28mm width carbon clincher rims, and 25mm width carbon rims clincher.

The 28mm width rim series (model PRD28) is with 28mm outer (21mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*28C. If you plan to use 28C (or wider) tire, PRD28 rim series is recommended.

The 25mm width rim series (model PRD25) is with 25mm outer (18mm inner) width.

For such wide road rims, the optimized aerodynamics tire size is 700*25C. If you plan to use 25C tire, PRD25 rim series is recommended.


ProX offers the wheels options for both types of hub--straight pull and J- bend. 

Spoke Replacement
If replace the spokes on the J-bend hub, you need to remove the cassette first and make the spoke through the hub flange. One of the big advantages of straight pull version is easy to replace them. If straight pull wheel is optimised correctly, then you can change any spoke with the wheel still on the bike.   
Spoke Strength
Some riders prefer the straight pull spoke. Because they believe the J bend does add another possible weak point on spoke’s head. However it makes almost no difference at all since the weak point of the spoke isn’t at the head. With our current warranty cases, they nearly always break somewhere else first if happens.
Spoke Availability
Bike shops sometimes don’t keep straight pull spokes in stock due to various brands and length required. For standard J-bend spoke, they’re more widely available and bike shops will have some in stock. Recommend to take some spare straight pull spokes while buying wheels. 
Wheels Lacing Pattern
One of the possible disadvantage of straight pull version is that the lacing pattern can't be changed. For example, it's possible to change between 2 cross and 3 cross lacing pattern. For straight pull hub, the spoke direction is pre-set and lacing pattern is already pre-determined by straight pull properties.  



The straight pull hub will be 17g/pair lighter than J bend hub. Head to the straight pull 98DB clincher wheels if you are looking for lighter wheels.

Premium Toray T700 + T800 carbon fiber are used in our carbon rims. 

Combining with stable resin system to make consistent quality and light weight carbon fiber bike rims.

By using well designed lay-up structure, mixing Toray T700 and T800 carbon prepreg, light weight carbon rims are created.

Excessive materials are eliminated to save weight, while extra materials are added around spoke hole for reinforcement.

Relatively narrow 18mm inner width and wide 21mm inner width, make it possible to fit multiple sizes of tire.

Normally road tire size 700x25C and 700x28C are recommended (also fit other wider tires).

Xiamen ProX Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. set up factory in Xiamen City (Fujian Province, China) in 2010. At the beginning, we manufactured all kinds of customized carbon fiber products according to customers’ demand, including carbon bike rims, carbon tubes, carbon drone body shell, etc. Since 2012, we decided to focus on main products - carbon bike rims. During the same year (2019), LightCarbon (China leading carbon frame manufacturer) visited us. After several trial order for testing, they were very satisfied with our quality. ProX supply carbon rims and carbon wheelset to LightCarbon, and LightCarbon supply carbon frameset and components to ProX.
